Nurture Teacher – Primary SEND

A warm and supportive Primary SEND school in Maidstone is seeking a compassionate and experienced Nurture Teacher to join their team from September 2025.
This is a full-time, permanent role ideal for a teacher with Early Years training and a passion for nurturing young learners with complex needs, including SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties).
The Role:
· Lead a small Nurture group of pupils with SLD and additional needs
· Create a safe, calm and supportive learning environment
· Deliver personalised, play-based and sensory learning activities
· Use communication systems including **Makaton** and **PECS** (desirable)
· Work closely with TAs, therapists, and families to support holistic development
· Focus on building trust, routines and emotional wellbeing alongside academic learning
What We’re Looking For:
· Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or EYTS)
· Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) training or strong EY experience
· Experience teaching pupils with SLD, ASD or other complex needs
· Knowledge or experience using Makaton, PECS, and sensory strategies (desirable)
· Calm, nurturing approach and a genuine passion for inclusive education
· Excellent teamwork and communication skills
