Client Details

We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Management Accountant to join a growing finance team in Bury. This is a key role within the finance function, supporting senior management with accurate financial reporting, analysis, and insight to drive business performance.

Description

The key responsibilities of a Management Accountant will include:

Prepare monthly management accounts in collaboration with the finance team, including clear and insightful financial commentary for the wider business.
Work closely with budget holders and internal departments to strengthen cost control, improve profitability, and enhance financial understanding of business performance.
Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts, including detailed variance analysis.
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of accounting records, including timely balance sheet reconciliations.
Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, streamline processes, and enhance financial controls.
Contribute to ad hoc financial projects, producing financial models and analysis to support business decisions and strategic initiatives.
Assist with year-end audit preparation and act as a key point of contact for external auditors.
Provide cover for other finance team members when required, including VAT returns and accounts payable activities.Profile

The successful Management Accountant will be:

Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
Demonstrable experience in a similar management accounting or finance role
2-5 years' post-qualification experience in a relevant environment
Confident communicator, able to engage effectively with stakeholders
Strong team player with experience contributing to finance-led projects
Commercially astute with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
Competent Excel user (minimum intermediate level)Job Offer
