Salary: £43,000 (fixed – no negotiation)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
About the Role
We are recruiting for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a dedicated maintenance team at a secure government site.
The Electrical Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for carrying out electrical and building maintenance works including planned preventative maintenance (PPM), fault-finding, and reactive breakdown repairs to electrical building services systems and infrastructure. This includes power, 3-phase distribution, emergency lighting, lamp/ballast/socket repairs, and alarms. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with contractual SLAs and support the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance works across the hard services operation.
The role requires good all-round building maintenance knowledge and confidence working in a client-facing environment, ideally with experience on similar facilities management contracts.
Key Responsibilities

Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance on electrical systems

Diagnose and repair electrical faults, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption
*
Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety standards
*
Participate in the on-call rota to respond to emergency maintenance requests
*
Maintain accurate records of all work carried out to ensure compliance
*
Liaise with site personnel to maintain high standards of customer service
Essential Requirements
*
Previous experience in a commercial environment, ideally facilities management
*
Strong maintenance and fault-finding skills
*
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
*
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation
*
UK driving license (clean)
*
Eligibility for BPSS clearance

City & Guilds 2391 Testing & Inspection qualification
