Our client are a leading manufacturer of precision parts for the aerospace industry. They are looking to add a dynamic Mechanically biased Design Engineer to their team on a permanent basis. This would be a great fit for a meticulous individual who enjoys challenge and variety in their day to day.

Responsibilities of the Position

To support the Operations Director to meet overall business objectives.
To assist with the identification, development and implementation of process improvements.
To ensure that all work meets customer (internal and external) expectations on delivery and quality.
To be flexible and adaptable.
Key Area Responsibilities

Design forgings to meet customer requirements within company capabilities.
Design tool and die requirements to customer requirements.
Ensure manufacturing processes meet agreed standards.
Maintain IT record systems within department.
Make necessary modifications to meet customer requirements.
Produce all necessary drawings and documentation to effectively allow customer components, tools and dies to be manufactured.
Recommend and implement system modifications as required.
Assemble working manuals/records to allow forging operations to be carried out.  This to include Forge Instruction Sheets etc.
Responsible for all design work within Lincoln Plant.
Responsible for design of new types of tooling to meet complex forging and quality standards.
Upgrade and widen scope of computer systems within engineering department.
Provide shop-floor support as required.
Carry out any other duties as directed by the management team.Knowledge and Experience

At least 3 years’ experience of working within a relevant design role gained in an Engineering environment.
Degree qualified in Mechanical or Aerospace or Design Engineering. 
Familiarity with the forging ability of metals and basic metallurgy.
Strong working knowledge of 3D CAD Software (preferably Creo) and Forge Simulation.
Excellent IT skills to include Mini Tab.Working Hours:

Monday to Thursday 8am to 4.30pm
Friday - 8am to 3.30pm
