Are you a qualified SEN Teacher (QTS) with experience delivering the primary curriculum to Key Stage 3 students?
An Ofsted-rated “Good” SEN school in Hackney is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join their team from September 2025. This is a full-time, permanent role working with a small class of fully verbal students aged 11–14 (KS3) who are working at KS2 curriculum level and have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
The Role – SEN Teacher
* Plan and deliver differentiated primary curriculum lessons to KS3 students with ASD
* Work closely with a highly supportive team of TAs and therapists
* Foster a calm, structured and inclusive learning environment
* Support the development of life skills, communication and emotional regulation
* Use visuals, schedules, and ASD-specific teaching methods (e.g. TEACCH, Attention Autism)
The Ideal Candidate – SEN Teacher
* Holds QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) – essential
* Proven experience teaching primary curriculum within a specialist SEN setting
* Confident supporting students with Autism, particularly those who are verbal but require high levels of structure and support
* Strong understanding of ASD strategies, visual supports, and behaviour regulation
* Passionate about inclusive education, with a calm and nurturing approach
* Able to adapt teaching style to meet diverse individual needs and EHCP targets
