Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for Design Co-Ordinator on an Initial 6 month contract based in Manchester
Role Summary
* Design Coordination:Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and design teams to coordinate all aspects of design work for oil and gas projects.Ensure that design outputs meet the project requirements, timelines, and quality standards.Track and report on design progress, addressing any delays or issues promptly
* Documentation and Compliance:
* Maintain and manage design-related documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.Ensure that all designs comply with industry regulations, codes, and safety standards (e.g., ISO, ASME, API).Conduct design reviews and ensure adherence to project scope and specifications.
* Collaboration and Communication:Act as the primary point of contact between design teams and other project stakeholders, including contractors, vendors, and clients.Facilitate regular design coordination meetings and technical reviews to ensure alignment between all parties.Provide technical support and guidance to the design team as required.
* Quality Control and Risk Management:Implement and oversee quality control processes for design outputs.Identify and assess potential design risks and provide mitigation strategies.Ensure that any design changes are carefully evaluated and documented.
* Project Management Support:
* Assist project managers in developing and maintaining project schedules and budgets related to design activities.Ensure that all design deliverables are completed on time and within budget, and manage design-related costs.Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely availability of materials and services for design requirements.
* Continuous Improvement:Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies relevant to design in the oil and gas sector.Proactively suggest improvements to design processes and workflows to increase efficiency and reduce costs
Requirements
* Education:
* A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (Mechanical, Civil, Structural, etc.) is preferred.
* Relevant certifications in design coordination, project management, or oil and gas engineering will be considered an asset.
* Experience:
* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in design coordination, preferably in the oil and gas industry or a related heavy industry.
* Proven track record of managing design workflows and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
* Technical Skills:
* Strong proficiency with design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, 3D modeling tools).
* Knowledge of industry-specific design codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ANSI).
* Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, or similar) is beneficial.
* Communication Skills:
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
* Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in team environments and manage multiple stakeholders.
* Additional Skills:
* Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
* Understanding of safety protocols and risk management practices in the oil and gas sector.
