Principal / Associate Civil Engineer

Location: Bridgend, Cardiff or Bristol (3 days per week in the office)
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 per annum

The Role

An established and expanding consultancy is seeking a Principal / Associate Civil Engineer to take a leading role in the delivery of civil engineering projects for a long-standing and diverse client base across South Wales.

This senior leadership position is suited to a highly experienced engineer who can provide strategic and technical oversight, lead project teams, and contribute to the continued growth and performance of the business. You will take responsibility for projects from concept through to delivery, acting as a trusted technical authority both internally and externally.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing, mentoring, and developing engineers and technicians within the team. With a strong cohort of junior staff already in place, the focus of the role is on driving high performance through effective leadership, clear communication, and robust technical governance.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership and strategic oversight across multiple civil engineering projects
Lead and manage project teams, ensuring efficient delivery to a high technical and commercial standard
Take full technical responsibility for projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and client requirements
Mentor, support, and develop junior engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and quality assurance
Act as a key point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and supporting repeat and future business
Coordinate with internal disciplines and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project deliveryBenefits
