The Role
The Operations teams are currently recruiting Multi Skilled Engineer to join the Jupiter Road site, in Norwich.
Working within a production environment our Multi-Skilled Engineers are responsible for providing a responsive engineering service to the Sites Operations Team to ensure high levels of machine availability, efficiency, reliability, safety, and quality standards are achieved and improved upon. You will make rational and informed decisions with regard to breakdown solutions and be responsible for providing effective and long-term solutions to continuously improve machine reliability. This will be a 2-shift rotation pattern.
Previous experience working within a factory/operations environment or working shifts will be an advantage. Full on the job training will be provided to develop the necessary skills for this specialised role.
Responsibilities
To provide engineering support to the department with regard to both Breakdowns and PPM.
Responsible for identifying necessary parts and equipment required for repairs & improvements.
To carry out both electrical and mechanical installations within skill set.
To make rational and informed decisions about breakdown solutions and completion of individual projects.
To carry out Electrical & Mechanical repairs within scope of ability & requirements.
Execute planned and unplanned maintenance activities to an agreed standard, ensuring safe working always and carry out Reactive and Preventative Maintenance.
Ensure all site assets are maintained to a high standard, meet site requirements and are reliable.
Use SAP to capture all maintenance activities (training will be provided)
Attain the engineering standards across the site by providing functional support and expertise.
To perform on relevant Engineering KPIs
Ensure a robust and clearly communicated safe system of work is applied for all activities that you undertake properly risk assessed.
Ensure parts are booked out correctly to help control stock levels in stores.
Be able to work effectively as a team not only with engineering team but also with production.
Work in accordance with sites certifications.
Actively engage and participate in all elements of Health and Safety requirements.
Knowledge and Experience
HNC Preferred
Multi-Skilled Engineer
Experience of working within a Production or Service environment – preferably Print or FMCG (3 – 5 years).
Ability to demonstrate Electrical/Mechanical installation experience.
Capable of using PLC I/O as a diagnostic tool.
Good Team player but capable of working on own initiative
Key Competencies
Applicants must be Apprenticeship trained/HNC qualified in an electrical or mechanical discipline although both mechanical and electrical experience in a manufacturing environment is needed. The following skills are also required:
Mechanical
Understanding hydraulic systems
Understanding pneumatic systems
Experience of steam systems
Experience of mechanical drive systems (Power transmission)
General mechanical repairs
Desired
Experience of working within the box making or corrugator industry.
Previous supervisory experience.
