Environmental Officer

Are you passionate about environmental sustainability and compliance? Do you have a strong understanding of environmental regulations and a desire to make a real impact in a manufacturing environment? If so, we’re looking for an Environmental Officer to join our clients team.

About the Role

As the Environmental Officer, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our manufacturing operations meet environmental regulations and internal standards across our UK sites. From regulatory compliance and environmental monitoring to leading sustainability initiatives, you’ll be the key point of contact driving environmental excellence across our operations.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and ensure compliance with environmental legislation and standards.
Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments across multiple locations.
Manage environmental permits, documentation, and reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
Promote waste reduction, pollution prevention, and resource efficiency across operations.
Investigate environmental incidents and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Support sustainability and energy efficiency projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Provide training and raise awareness of environmental best practices across the business.
Represent the company in communications with regulatory authorities, sustainability partners, and external auditors.
What We’re Looking For

Education & Experience:

Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
3–5 years' experience in an environmental role, ideally in manufacturing or industrial settings.
Familiarity with ISO 14001 and integrated management systems.
Certification in NEBOSH Environmental, IEMA, or similar is a plus.
Skills:

In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and standards.
Experience with emissions, waste, and water monitoring and reporting.
Competency in environmental data collection, analysis, and reporting.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
Self-starter with a proactive, improvement-driven mindset.
This role involves travel to key UK sites, so flexibility and a full UK driving licence are essential.
