Senior Site Manager

Contract Type: Freelance

Salary: £270 - £320 a day depending on experience 

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Site Manager to take full responsibility for the delivery of a major residential construction project. The scheme involves the demolition of an existing building followed by the construction of a new reinforced concrete (RC) frame apartment block.

You will lead the site from enabling works through to completion, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Overall management of site operations from demolition through to handover

Planning, coordinating, and supervising subcontractors and site teams

Managing RC frame construction, sequencing, and logistics

Ensuring strict compliance with H&S, environmental, and statutory requirements

Maintaining programme targets and driving productivity on site

Quality control and inspections to ensure works meet specifications

Liaising with project managers, design teams, consultants, and local authorities

Managing site records, reporting progress, and resolving technical/site issues

Leading and motivating site teams to deliver results

Requirements

Proven experience as a Senior Site Manager (or strong Site Manager ready to step up)

Strong background in RC frame residential projects

Experience managing demolition and enabling works

SMSTS, CSCS (Black or Gold), and First Aid certified

Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills

Ability to manage multiple trades and complex programmes

Solid understanding of UK construction regulations and best practice
