The Role
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to join a dynamic, multi-discipline team working on cutting-edge technology development and testing. You will collaborate closely with engineers and scientists, playing a key role in the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems for experiments, prototypes, and customer equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and set up electrical systems, instruments, and materials for experiments, tests, and customer systems.
Fabricate, assemble, and maintain electrical subsystems and components for test and operational equipment.
Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment to ensure reliability.
Assist engineers and scientists in conducting experiments, collecting data, and analysing results.
Accurately record and document electrical test data and observations.
Diagnose and resolve electrical issues during testing and operation.
Support the development and optimisation of electrical systems and lab procedures.Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering (City & Guilds, BTEC, NVQ, or equivalent).
18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations certification (or equivalent).
Strong experience in maintaining, testing, and troubleshooting electrical systems.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.
Proficiency with electrical hand tools, testing instruments, PLCs, and data logging systems.
Experience working with hazardous gases or in ATEX-rated environments is a plus.
Salary Package:
Competitive Annual Salary - £30,000-£35,000
Pension: 5% employer contribution (3% employee contribution).
Holiday: 25 days + UK bank holidays.
