Senior Accounts Assistant/Assistant Accountant
Maternity Cover for a minimum of 15 months
SJC Partners are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accounts Assistant to provide maternity cover with the potential opportunity to be made permanent. In this vital role, you’ll be responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial operations, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic finance team and contribute to the smooth financial running of a growing business.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain precise and current financial records
Manage the month-end close process, including preparation of monthly management accounts
Prepare quarterly VAT returns for review
Submit CIS returns using Xero
Generate and process sales invoices and other financial documentation
Oversee credit control processes
Support the production of financial reports for shareholder meetings
Assist in the creation of budgets and financial planning
Perform general administrative and ad hoc accounting tasks as needed Qualifications and Experience:
AAT qualified or equivalent experience in a similar accounting role
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Previous experience using Xero accounting software is beneficial Skills and Attributes:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Proactive problem-solving abilities
Well-organised with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
Collaborative team player with a supportive attitude
High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information
