Mechanical Estates Officer
Salary: £50,000 - £56,908
Full-Time – 37.5 hours per week
Location: NHS Client based in Essex
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Estates Officer to join the Estates and Facilities team at an NHS client based in Essex.
This is a key leadership role responsible for the delivery of mechanical and building engineering services across a complex hospital estate. You will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of compliance, safety, and service delivery, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the operational management of mechanical systems, including planned and reactive maintenance.

Act as an Authorised Person in line with Health Technical Memoranda (HTMs).
*
Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, Trust policies, and NHS standards.
*
Support capital projects, providing expert technical advice from design through to commissioning.
*
Promote sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives aligned with the Green Plan.
*
Manage and develop a multi-disciplinary team, promoting a culture of excellence and accountability.
About You:
*
HND (or equivalent) in a mechanical or engineering discipline.
*
Recognised Authorised Person status and strong knowledge of HTMs.
*
NEBOSH or IOSH health and safety qualification.
*
Significant experience in managing engineering services within a healthcare or similar setting.
*
Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence, engage, and develop teams.
