Catering Technician

Salary: £31,750.00- £32,750.00 per annum.

Employment Type: Part time (20 hours pw), permanent

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Food and Nutrition Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be the backbone of our practical lessons, ensuring that students have the equipment, ingredients, and safe environment they need to excel. You will work closely with teaching staff to deliver an ambitious curriculum that builds students' independence and culinary skills.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a background in catering, food safety, or school technician work who enjoys a hands-on role in an educational setting.

Responsibilities:

Prepare equipment and ingredients for practical lessons and demonstrations according to teacher specifications.

Assist students during practical sessions, providing technical guidance on the safe use of tools and cooking techniques.

Maintain rigorous hygiene standards and perform regular safety checks on all kitchen equipment, including ovens, hobs, and small appliances.

Requirements:

Previous experience in a food preparation, hospitality, or educational environment.

Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or a willingness to obtain one immediately).

Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
