Mechanical Shift Technician

£53,000 per annum + Overtime
12-Hour Day/Night Shifts | 4-Week Rolling Rota

We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Shift Technician to join a well-established and growing operation based in Dartford, Kent. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled mechanical engineer looking for long-term stability, competitive pay, and genuine career progression.

The Role

Working as part of a multi-skilled engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring all mechanical plant and equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably.

This is a 12-hour shift pattern (7am–7pm / 7pm–7am) operating on a structured 4-week rolling rota:

2 on, 2 off

3 on, 4 off

*

3 on, 2 off

3 on, 4 off

Key Responsibilities

*

Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)

*

Responding to breakdowns and fault finding on mechanical systems

*

Repair and overhaul of pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and associated equipment

*

Supporting continuous improvement initiatives

*

Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety standards

*

Maintaining accurate maintenance records

Requirements

*

Recognised mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent)

*

Experience working within an industrial, manufacturing, or process environment

*

Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills

*

Ability to work effectively as part of a shift team

*

Proactive and safety-focused approach
