This is a superb opportunity to join my client, an innovative, industry-leading Multidisciplinary Consultancy, dedicated to broadening their geographical reach by establishing a new office location in beautiful Scotland. Known for lending their expertise to a diverse range of projects across the landscape architecture, planning, and civil engineering fields, they are proactively seeking a driven, experienced Principal Civil Engineer with extensive knowledge of infrastructure design, who is willing to win, manage, and successfully deliver on a range of challenging projects. You will have a genuine hand in building and leading a newly-established team of design engineers, based near the picturesque, green city of Dunfermline.

Responsibilities for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:

Overseeing a number of interesting projects and developments
Leading the day-to-day running of projects at all stages of the process, from inception through to successful delivery and implementation
Mentoring and supporting colleagues throughout their careers, and overseeing their Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Building and maintaining important, professional client and stakeholder relations
Preparing, checking, and submitting reports, drawings, calculations, and other technical documents
Upholding company policies, procedures, and best practice
Enforcing the appropriate health and safety standards at all times
Contributing to the company's business development strategies, acting as a trusted representative at client meetings, site visits, etc.

Required skills and experience for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:

A UK Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering (or a cognate discipline)
Possess Chartered Status with a recognised Professional Body (e.g., ICE)
Extensive experience in a design role, within a UK consultancy setting
Demonstrable experience of working with infrastructure (namely drainage and highways), housing developments, and energy projects
Experience of earthworks design and drainage network modelling
Proficient in the use of various software packages (to include Civils 3D, MicroDrainage, AutoCAD, etc.)
Considerable experience of writing, checking, and amending reports and other technical documents for submission
Prior experience of leading both projects and people within the sector
Experience of managing client and stakeholder relations
Excellent organisation, time management, team leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Hold a full, valid UK driving licence

Desirable skills and experience for the role of Principal Civil Engineer include:

A UK Master's Degree (or equivalent qualification)
Experience of authoring Flood Risk Assessments
Experience of preparing Transport Assessments
Experience of working in a public-facing role
