We are currently working with a warm and nurturing one-form-entry Catholic primary school in the Worthing area that is looking for a dedicated Individual Needs Assistant to join their close-knit team this September. About the Role – What You’ll Be Doing:
As an Individual Needs Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support with learning, emotional regulation, or social development. Your role will be to nurture their progress, provide encouragement, and ensure they are included and confident in all areas of school life.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with special educational needs
Supporting emotional wellbeing and helping pupils regulate their emotions in a calm and reassuring way
Encouraging active participation and independence during lessons and school activities
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual support strategies
Helping to create a safe, inclusive environment where children feel happy and confident
What We’re Looking For:
Experience supporting children with additional needs (SEN), or relevant training (desirable)
A calm, nurturing approach with the ability to build strong relationships with children
A commitment to inclusive education and the school’s ethos of compassion and support
Teamwork and strong communication skills
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
