Are you a passionate and experienced primary-trained teacher ready to make a difference in the lives of secondary-aged students?
GSL Education are looking for a SEN Teacher (Literacy Lead) who can inspire and empower young people with social, emotional, and behavioural needs in a trauma-informed environment.
A specialist SEMH school supporting boys aged 11–16, all of whom have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). You will work in a therapeutic, structured, and purpose-driven setting.
As our SEN Teacher, you will:
Lead and develop the school’s literacy strategy
Teach English across a wide range of academic levels
Work closely with students with SEMH needs to help them overcome barriers to learning
Support colleagues in delivering high-quality education in a therapeutic setting
Make a real impact on students’ confidence, communication, and future success
What we are looking for:
Primary-trained teachers with strong literacy and English delivery skills are encouraged to apply
Secondary-trained teachers with QTS are also welcome
SEN experience is desirable, but not essential – willingness to learn is key
Is flexible and willing to teach across the school when needed
Uses trauma-informed and therapeutic teaching approaches
Remains adaptable, organised, and calm under pressure
