ISQ Recruitment is partnering with a Norfolk-based employer to recruit a Vehicle Technician Supervisor to lead a small team of technicians in a varied and fast-paced environment. The role combines day-to-day task planning and team leadership with practical mechanical and electrical work on a range of specialist projects.
About the Role
You’ll be based in the workshop, responsible for supervising technicians, coordinating workload, and ensuring safety, quality, and productivity targets are met. You’ll take the lead on inspections and diagnostics, support hands-on maintenance and fitting tasks, and liaise with internal teams to keep projects on track.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support a team of technicians in day-to-day workshop activity
Allocate jobs based on project schedules and workshop priorities
Conduct mechanical and electrical inspections and diagnostics
Perform hands-on maintenance and repair tasks where needed
Coordinate with procurement, engineering, and stores to ensure parts and tooling are available
Maintain high standards of workshop organisation and safety
Support training, onboarding, and development of new team members
Complete relevant documentation and provide job status updates
Contribute to process improvement and workshop planning What We’re Looking For
Essential:
Proven experience in a vehicle maintenance or mechanical technician role
Comfortable leading small teams and delegating tasks
Confident with diagnostics, repairs, and hands-on problem-solving
Good understanding of workshop safety procedures and best practices
Organised, with the ability to manage multiple jobs and priorities
Valid UK driving licence Desirable:
Supervisory or team leadership experience
Experience working with electric or hybrid vehicles
Understanding of technical drawings and work instructions
Formal training or certification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in vehicle maintenance/mechanical engineering)
Familiarity with stores systems, tooling, and basic reporting Why Apply?
