Job Opportunity: Chef de Partie

Location: Sandsend, Whitby

Salary: £30,000 per annum + Share of Service Charge

Our client, situated in the scenic coastal village of Sandsend, Whitby, is in the midst of an exciting transformation. This historic establishment is being redeveloped into a luxury wellness-led sanctuary, complete with beautiful interiors, a state-of-the-art spa and gym, exquisite lodges, and top-tier dining experiences, all part of a broader £100 million development project.

In this dynamic environment, we are looking to recruit a skilled Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team. This role is integral to our culinary operations, supporting our Head Chef and Sous Chefs, and contributing significantly to the dining experience we offer.

Key Responsibilities:

* Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in your designated section of the kitchen, ensuring each item meets the establishment's standards.

* Assist in the planning and execution of menu items, contributing ideas and suggestions for new dishes and seasonal changes.

* Ensure timely preparation and presentation of all meals within your section, coordinating closely with other team members to ensure smooth service.

* Maintain strict health and hygiene standards in the kitchen, including regular checks to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

* Manage and train any junior staff or apprentices in your section, providing guidance and monitoring their progress.

* Keep your section of the kitchen organized and manage inventory, including placing orders for supplies as needed and minimizing waste.

Requirements:

* Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or significant experience as a Commis Chef ready to step up to the next level.

* Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes, with a particular focus on your specialty section, whether it's sauces, pastries, butchery, or any other area.

* Excellent time management and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.

* A keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality food to all guests.

* A team player attitude, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a large team of culinary professionals.

* A passion for food and culinary arts, with a continuous desire to learn and improve skills.
