Chalk Education is proud to be recruiting on behalf of an exciting new specialist SEN provision launching in Buxton in July 2025. Designed around a practical, trauma-informed, and outdoor-based curriculum, this school will offer a safe, nurturing, and creative environment for pupils with complex emotional and behavioural needs.

We are looking for qualified SEN Teachers and experienced SEN Teaching Assistants who are passionate about supporting high-needs pupils through personalised, hands-on learning. This is a rare chance to join a founding team and help shape a school that prioritises emotional wellbeing, engagement, and personal growth.

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

Contract: Full-time, with potential for long-term or permanent placement

What We’re Looking For:

*

For Teachers: QTS, PTLLS, or QTLLS essential; experience with challenging behaviour; confident delivering creative and outdoor learning across the primary curriculum

*

For TAs: Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs; background in outdoor learning or alternative provision highly desirable

*

A trauma-informed, resilient, and patient approach

*

Strong communication skills and a passion for building trust and fostering progress

*

Ability to work closely with small groups (currently 8 pupils) to deliver personalised support
