I’m currently recruiting on behalf of my client an experienced Senior Design Manager in the Midlands area. We are currently working with a Tier 1 Main Contractor, looking to hire a Senior Design Manager for new project in Birmingham area

Position: Senior Design Manager

Head Office: Derby

Project Location: Derby

* Salary Range £78K -£80K this will be based on experience

* Benefits & Projects: Dfe, HMP, MOD High-rise residential & mixed-use developments

What We’re Looking For:

* Expertise in Design Management

* Main Contractor experience is required

Responsibilities:

· Manage and coordinate design across major projects at various stages

· Ensure compliance with Building Safety Regulations and Gateway requirements

· Work closely with planning, commercial, and site teams to integrate design effectively

· Liaise with external consultants, architects, and technical stakeholders

· Lead design team meetings and track design deliverables

· Identify design risks, provide technical solutions, and support value engineering exercises

· Contribute to the development of internal design processes and mentor junior team members

· Lead the team.
