Teaching Assistant - SEMH Primary School

Contract: Full-time, Term-time only

About the Role
We are looking for a caring, resilient and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team at our SEMH primary school in Stretford.
You will work closely with pupils who experience social, emotional and mental health needs, supporting them to re-engage with learning, develop positive relationships, and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
✅ Build trusting, supportive relationships with pupils to promote confidence and self-esteem
✅ Assist teachers in delivering engaging, personalised learning activities
✅ Support pupils in managing their emotions and behaviour in a positive, restorative way
✅ Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and families to meet each child's individual needs
✅ Encourage independence, resilience and personal growth in every child
About You
We're looking for someone who:
? Has experience working with children with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour (in school, youth work or care settings)
? Is calm, patient and able to build strong, positive relationships
? Can remain resilient under pressure and respond to children's needs with empathy
? Works well as part of a supportive, multi-disciplinary team
? Is committed to creating a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
