Ready for a Change?

From Care & Support Work to Supporting Children with Learning Difficulties

Are you currently working in care or support work and feeling exhausted, undervalued, or stuck in a cycle of long shifts and constant pressure?

Do you still care deeply about helping people — but want a role that feels more rewarding, structured, and hopeful?

We’re looking for caring, patient, and resilient people from the care industry to join our SEN School in Southend as a Learning Support Assistant.

Why This Role Might Be Exactly What You’re Looking For

If you’ve worked in care, you already have the skills that matter most:

Compassion and patience
Experience supporting people with additional needs
Emotional resilience
A calm, reassuring presence during challenging moments
The difference?
Here, you’ll be supporting children with learning difficulties in a school environment — helping them grow, communicate, and achieve things they once found impossible.

You’ll see progress.
You’ll build real relationships.
And you’ll go home knowing you made a difference that day.

What You’ll Be Doing

Supporting children with learning difficulties and additional needs in the classroom
Helping pupils access learning, routines, and social interaction
Working closely with teachers, therapists, and other support staff
Encouraging independence, confidence, and emotional regulation
Being a consistent, trusted adult in a child’s school day

What Makes This Different from Care Work

Term-time hours (no weekends or school holidays)
A supportive team environment
Structured days with clear routines
Training provided for education and special needs support
The chance to change the direction of your career without losing your purpose
