A well-established school in North Yorkshire that caters for children and young people aged 9-16 is looking for a Young Offenders Support Worker to join their growing team.

The children at this school all have SEMH along with mild to severe challenging behaviour, so the school is looking for a Young Offenders Support Worker who is able to build a strong rapport with their pupils and act as a positive role model.

The school can offer a full-time placement, Monday to Friday to start in September with the possibility of securing a permanent role.

As a Young Offenders Support Worker, your roles and responsibilities will include:

To build strong rapport with the pupils and act as a positive role model.
To support with behaviour management and utilise de-escalation techniques when needed.
To promote the benefits and value of education to encourage the children to be engaged during their lessons.
To support the class teacher with the day-to-day running of their lessons.
To help make the school a safe place for both pupils and staff and protect the social and emotional well-being of the children.Holding a driving license would be required for this role due to the secluded location of the school as public transport does not operate in this area.
