About the Role:
An Alfreton-based engineering company is seeking a Trainee Manual Machinist to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in a hands-on, skilled trade, with training provided.

The role will involve learning to operate manual lathes and other equipment while developing skills in measuring, reading drawings, and producing high-quality precision components.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate manual lathes and other workshop machinery (training provided)

*

Read and interpret technical engineering drawings

*

Use measurement tools such as micrometres and Verniers

*

Work with a range of materials to create precision parts

Requirements:

Prior experience or use of manual lathes

*

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings

*

Comfortable using measuring tools like verniers and micrometres is desirable

*

Willingness to learn and develop new skills in a workshop environment

This role is temp to perm, paying £12.40 per hour and is working Monday to Thursday: 07:00 – 15:30 and Friday: 07:00 – 14:00
