Are you a current Managing Director with a Finance/Accounting background?

Are you experienced in a Machinery/Equipment manufacturing environment?

We are on the search for an “up and coming”, energetic and commercially astute Managing Director with a finance/accounting background.

This is a business with an industry leading product manufactured in Herefordshire and sold globally, the business also has as a very well-established subcontract/fabrication side to the business, fabricating for other globally renowned manufacturers.

This would really suit a Managing Director with 2+ years’ experience in a smaller business and who is now looking for a “bigger” role with a SME in and around 100 staff and £15M T/O.

On offer is the chance to join an established and financially stable business with an excellent operations team already in place.

The ideal candidate will need to have a genuine commercial instinct to help deliver a profitable and successful future to the business - in line with success in these areas there will be equity opportunities in the medium term.

Initial Actions

* Understand the business manufacturing processes and constraints.

* Meet customers.

* Understand and authorise all payments made by the business.

* Formulate a supplier, overheads and employee cost control plan.

* Support/mentor salaried employees regarding people management and commercial decisions.

Overview of Objectives/Responsibilities

* Overall responsibility for the financial and operational success of the business

* Lead the management team (Ops/Manufacturing, Finance/HR, Procurement/Production Planning, Sales/Marketing).

* Customer and supplier management.

* Product and market development.

* Enterprise development (people and processes).

* Financial stability and cash generation through good management, profitable operations and sales growth.

* Reporting progress to the Shareholders.

About the Person

* Experience as a Managing Director– 2+ Years.

* Finance/Accounting background.

* Strong leadership skills.

* Understanding/Appreciation of Machinery/Equipment manufacture.
