Our estates are more than just buildings; it is the backbone of the care we provide. Therefore we are looking for someone with expert knowledge in building and civil engineering. You will ensure our infrastructure is safe, compliant, and maintained to the highest standards. Whilst focusing on specifically on how buildings are constructed and maintained, overseeing the structural lifecycle of our assets.

About You:

You are a construction professional who understands the "bricks and mortar" of an estate. You should bring:

* Structural Expertise: A strong background in building and civil engineering works.

* Contractual Rigour: Proven experience in managing external contractors, with the ability to measure performance against KPIs and take decisive action when delivery falls short.

* Specialist Knowledge: Demonstrated experience in asbestos management and the ability to act as a lead for health and safety compliance.

* Leadership: The ability to develop a high-performing team and drive continuous improvement across a complex, high-profile environment.

Key responsibilities include:

* Technical Authority: Providing expert advice on building fabric and civil works. You will act as the authorised person for ensuring strict compliance and safety protocols are met across the Trust.

* Construction Oversight: Helping to Develop technical specifications for capital and maintenance projects with a focus on "how we build"—ensuring quality, durability, and safety in every structural intervention.

* Robust Contract Management: Moving beyond simple oversight, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of contract management. This includes understanding the nuances of construction and building contracts, setting clear performance metrics, and—crucially—knowing how to remediate and manage contracts that are underperforming or off-track.

* Safety & Compliance: Leading on assurance and arranging and understanding audits for example Confined Spaces, Asbestos and fire Fire safety, while maintaining impeccable records for statutory reporting. Also acting as an AP within certain area
