This role is ideal for a tutor who understands the importance of relationship‑building, emotional safety, and flexible learning, and who is confident supporting a learner who is not currently accessing a mainstream school setting.
The Role
Provide 1:1 tuition in a low‑pressure, student‑led environment
Prioritise building trust and confidence before introducing academic learning
Support gradual re‑engagement with education
Adapt learning to suit the individual's pace, interests, and emotional needs
Introduce academic content sensitively once the learner is ready
Encourage motivation and positive attitudes towards future learning and qualificationsEssential Requirements
Minimum of 6 months' experience working within a UK based educational setting
Ability to build positive relationships with young people
Patient, flexible, and emotionally aware approach
Confidence working 1:1 and adapting sessions as neededDesirable Experience
Experience supporting pupils with EBSA
Experience working with SEN, including anxiety‑related needs
Background in alternative provision, home tutoring, or pastoral supportWhat We're Looking For
