At Hill McGlynn, we’re partnering with one of the UK’s leading specialist fit-out contractors to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their thriving commercial team in Whitstable.

This role offers the chance to play a pivotal part in delivering fast-paced, high-spec fit-out projects for major national retail clients — all within a business that values autonomy, flexibility, and career development.

With a strong pipeline of secured work, including national roll-outs and multi-site programmes, this is an ideal opportunity for a commercially driven Senior QS looking to make real impact.

? The Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll lead the commercial delivery of multiple concurrent projects across the UK — ensuring financial performance, cost control, and contract compliance across the board. You’ll work closely with both operational teams and clients to ensure delivery excellence.

? Key Responsibilities

* Full commercial oversight of fast-track fit-out schemes

* Preparation of cost plans, tender documents and contract management

* Subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and management

* Accurate reporting on project costs, forecasting and risk

* Managing valuations, variations, and final accounts

* Mentoring and supporting junior commercial team members

* Ensuring adherence to contract terms and project budgets

? About You

* 5+ years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within fit-out or fast-paced contracting

* Proven track record in leading multiple projects concurrently

* Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills

* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar (RICS preferred)

* Excellent communication and leadership ability

* Full UK driving licence
