Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and skilled English Teacher to join a vibrant college in Bournemouth, supporting students resitting their GCSE English exams. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated educator to work with young adults and help them achieve the qualifications they need to succeed outside of education.
We are able to consider both full-time and part-time applicants for this position.
About the Role:
Deliver engaging and accessible English lessons tailored to students retaking their GCSEs.
Support students in developing core literacy skills and exam techniques to build their confidence and improve outcomes.
Plan and assess lessons that meet a range of learning needs, including those who may have had barriers to success in school.
Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and motivated.
Work closely with the English department and wider college staff to ensure student progress and wellbeing.
Contribute to curriculum planning and the ongoing development of effective teaching strategies for post-16 learners.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience teaching GCSE English
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent post-16 teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed).
Understanding of the challenges faced by students retaking exams and strategies to support them.
Excellent communication skills, with a commitment to building positive and respectful relationships.
A flexible, patient, and resilient approach to teaching.
