Purpose

This role will report to the Business Resilience Manager, an provide tactical and operational resilience support, guidance and advice based on evidence, planning assumptions, best practice and risk and threat assessments to UKIFS Programmes as required.
To provide technical knowledge, specialist expertise and advice to its project teams and all matters relating to Security Risk Management (Physical, Personnel, Information, Incident Response, Technical, Industry - Supply chain & Procurement and concept design inherent security)
Acting as a Security Advisor championing and sharing best practice across UKIFS embedding and championing Security within programmes and projects, through greater levels of capabilities, awareness and understanding.
Acting as an SME on diverse and wide-ranging projects, linking in with the Business Resilience Lead, Safety Case team and Environmental Engineers, and other relevant internal and external stakeholders.
Acting as a champion to advocate, promote and leverage Security investment and prioritisation in UKIFS programmes and projects.Accountabilities

Assess the impact of the appropriate and relevant Business Resilience standards, HMG Functional Standards, and the HM Government Minimum Standards, and other related requirements on UKIFS and its programmes, including projects, ensure that documentation, processes, procedures and arrangements reflect those requirements. Establishing the basis to achieve Security standards as identified.
Identify emerging risks and threats pertaining to Security, monitor changes to the risk and threat environment, develop and implement mitigations and advise on any appropriate mitigations, input to and support risk registers liaising with risk owners and Risk Managers as appropriate
Review, exercise, and test Security arrangements ensuring programmes and projects preparedness Security risks and threats liaising with the Business Resilience Manager or designate as appropriate
Produce and maintain site estate and infrastructure security assessments and associated plans
Liaise with the Computing Division regarding information and cyber security matters (or relevant team as introduced)
Networking within the Security community such as attendance at forums, exhibitions, government and regulatory workshops etc

Minimum educational requirement of a degree ideally in a security discipline is preferred, however relevant work experience in a law enforcement, military intelligence or security role or Critical National Infrastructure, or major Project (>£50m) would also be accepted.
Knowledge of relevant Government Functional Standards, ISO and BS requirements.
To hold or be able to achieve an SC security clearance in the first instance, with a potential need to achieve DV at a later stage. An offer for this role is conditional on achieving an SC clearance in the first instance.
Ability to clearly communicate at all levels both verbally and through the production of written reports.
Excellent interpersonal skills to enable effective working relationships to be developed with people in a wide range of roles and levels of responsibility.

Proven experience / track record in a security role ideally in a technical or scientific setting.
Experience of the civil nuclear industry, critical national infrastructure, law enforcement, protective security or military intelligence or security environments is desirable with a balance of business acumen and technical knowledge.
