Meridian Business Support is currently seeking a Consultant Clinical Oncologist to join a dedicated oncology team in Plymouth on a 6-12 month fixed-term contract. This role will focus on Lung Cancer and potentially Urology, delivering high-quality care within a dynamic and supportive NHS environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead new patient (NP) and follow-up (FU) clinics
Provide ward round cover
Plan and prescribe Radical Radiotherapy (RT) and systemic treatments
Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure excellent patient careAbout You:We are seeking an experienced and motivated Consultant Clinical Oncologist with:
Essential
MRCP (UK) or equivalent.
Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for geriatric medicine and general internal medicine, through either: a) Completion of Specialist Training (CCT) - or be within 6 months of completion at the date of interview. b) Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) c) European Community RightsDesirable
Relevant higher degree (MD/PhD)
Qualification in Medical EducationExperience
Essential
Evidence of thorough and broad training and experience in Oncology
Ability to offer expert clinical opinion across a wide range of oncological situations both elective and emergency
Able to take responsibility for delivering service without direct supervision and be able to work in a multidisciplinary team.Desirable
Specialist experience in urological cancer
Evidence of a special interest and expertise that complements those of other consultants in the department and is consistent with the Trust's service strategyClinical Knowledge and Skills
