Job Title: Paint Mixer

Location: Birmingham

Department: Paint

Working Hours: 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Hourly Rate: £13.75

Job Purpose:

To prepare and mix paint components in accordance with supplier specifications and technical data sheets (TDS), ensuring high-quality standards for internal production and timely delivery to technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

Mix paint materials to meet customer quality standards and internal production requirements.
Support technicians by ensuring all required paints are available on time and in full.
Perform paint mixing activities in compliance with IATF 16949 quality standards.
Accurately document and verify all mixed paint materials, including part numbers, batch numbers, mix ratios, viscosity, temperature, filtration, and pH values.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in paint kitchens and stores using 5S and FIFO systems.
Strip, clean, and maintain paint application equipment.
Ensure all tools and equipment (e.g., viscosity cups, rheometers, thermometers, scales) are calibrated and maintained.
Operate paint kitchen systems including fill and loading, agitation, lifters, filter changes, and top-up procedures.
Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures.
Provide cover for other team members as required.
Demonstrate initiative in supporting team members and driving continuous improvement and cost reduction.
Assist the Technical Manager with departmental activities as needed.

Qualifications & Experience:

3-5 years of experience in the paint manufacturing industry preferred.
Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
Willingness to undertake relevant training to enhance skills.
