Job Role – Mechanical Engineer

Reporting to the Engineering Manager the Mechanical Engineer shall be responsible for designing and developing high-performance and high-reliable technical solutions for extreme and harsh environments with regards to subsea connectors.

This role demands a deep understanding of engineering fundamentals and materials science to ensure reliability, safety, and innovation in subsea applications.

Duties – Mechanical Engineer

• Design and develop subsea (Low and High Voltage) electrical and optical connectors, pressure housings, and sealing systems using advanced CAD tools
• Promote standardisation within and across product lines
• Ensure consistency and alignment across and within product lines
• Sustain high quality for our products
• Drive design decisions optimizing both product performance and cost and balance innovation with cost efficiency
• Perform and understand the fundamentals for mechanical, thermal, and pressure simulations using FEA tools to validate designs for high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) subsea environments and/or for deep-sea environments
• Select materials for HPHT environments, Subsea environments with understanding corrosion-resistant materials and coatings suitable for long-term subsea deployment
• Specify and integrate subsea electrical connectors into mechanical assemblies, ensuring watertight integrity, pressure resistance, and compatibility with control systems
• Conduct prototype testing, pressure testing, and qualification to industry standards
• Generate detailed technical documentation including Design Specifications, Qualification Test procedures, 3D models, 2D drawings, BOMs, and Test Reports
• Support hardware qualification testing, including Factory Acceptance Test, Site Integration Test, and connector integrity testing
• Provide engineering support during installation, commissioning, and operational phases
• Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards (API, ISO, IEEE, IEC and all relevant industry standards)

Skills/Experience – Mechanical Engineer

• Proficiency in 3D CAD and FEA tools (Creo/Pro-E)
• Proficiency in Technical 2D drawings
• Proficiency in mechanical fundamentals, mechanical engineering calculations, and
• electrical fundamentals
• Strong understanding of sealing technologies, pressure-rated designs, and mechanical-electrical interface design
• Familiarity with industry standards (API, ISO, ASME, IEC, IEEE and others)

Candidates who are currently an Design Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Development Engineer, Technical Engineer, NPI Engineer, NPD Engineer, Analysis Engineer and Engineering Manager could be suitable for this position.
