Hill McGlynn Recruitment are currently supporting a leading engineering and infrastructure contractor in their search for a Junior Buyer to join their procurement team in Haydock.

This role is ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in construction or M&E procurement, working alongside experienced buyers on live projects.

The Role:
Supporting the procurement team, you will assist with sourcing materials, raising purchase orders, and coordinating supplier deliveries.

Key duties include:

Assisting withthe  procurement of materials and plant
Raising and tracking purchase orders
Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors
Comparing quotations and supporting negotiations
Updating procurement systems and maintaining records
Supporting senior buyers with reporting and cost tracking The Candidate:
We're looking for someone organised, commercially aware, and keen to develop.

You should have:

1-3 years' experience in a buying, procurement, or construction role (preferred)
Strong administrative and organisational skills
Good communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
A proactive attitude and willingness to learn Experience within construction, M&E, or engineering is advantageous but not essential.
