Salary: £90 - £120 per day (PAYE, dependent on experience)

Special Needs Teaching Assistant - Primary SEND Centre, Camden

Tradewind Recruitment are working with a welcoming and well-resourced Primary SEND School in Camden, known for its large, purpose-built Autism Centre that provides exceptional support to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other complex learning needs.

The school is looking for a passionate and patient SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from January 2026, supporting pupils aged 4-11 to achieve their full potential both academically and socially.

The Role

You'll work closely with teachers and therapists to deliver personalised learning and create a nurturing, structured environment where every child can thrive. Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting pupils with autism on a 1:1 and small group basis

Helping children develop communication, social and emotional skills

Implementing visual aids, sensory strategies and behaviour support plans

Encouraging independence, confidence and engagement in learning

Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs and speech and language therapists

What We're Looking For

Previous experience supporting children with autism or other additional needs (school or care setting)

A calm, positive and proactive approach

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

A genuine passion for inclusive education

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
