Basic salary £29,000 plus quarterly commission

This is an exciting chance to join a growing company looking for an experienced Assistant Showroom Manager to help oversee daily showroom operations and support the Retail Team. Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to manage, mentor, and develop a team and have experience of working in interior design, luxury home goods, or related industry sectors.
As the Assistant Showroom Manager, your role involves generating sales from both retail and trade customers, focusing on meeting sales goals and boosting profits. Responsibilities also include managing stock and merchandise, training staff, and ensuring compliance with the company's health and safety policies.
Candidate
Ability to deliver exceptional customer service and resolve issues professionally.
Experience in assisting or overseeing the day-to-day operations, maintaining visual
standards, and implementing company policies and procedures.
Proven ability to identify, engage, and convert new customers, including investigating
potential opportunities, building relationships, and successfully guiding them through to order
placement.
Customer-focused, responsible, and reliable, demonstrate and ability to motivate and
delegate.
A good communicator—approachable, articulate, and able to engage effectively with clients
and team members.
Knowledgeable about health and safety regulations.
Decisive and a problem solver, highly organised, numerate, and accurate.
Computer literate and comfortable using systems for showroom management.

Physically capable of lifting products when required.
Duties
Oversee daily showroom operations to maintain efficiency and ensure everything runs
smoothly.
Keep presentation and visual standards flawless, making the space both inspiring and
welcoming.
Promote compliance with company policies, procedures, and employment laws among staff,
building a positive and productive environment.
Help organise staff schedules, delegate tasks, and inspire proactive customer service.
Act as key holder for opening and closing duties.
Store paperwork and record data efficiently within company deadlines.
Handle timely and accurate stocktaking and inventory management.
Stay updated on new products and ranges and provide training to the team.
Assist marketing with tracking how visitors heard about the showroom.
Manage and oversee discounts provided by the Retail Sales Team.
Guide the showroom team’s performance, offering training, mentorship, and motivation.
Create a collaborative, energetic workspace where teamwork is effortless.
Assign tasks and encourage a proactive, customer-focused attitude.
Develop strong connections with clients, including homeowners, designers, and trade
professionals.
Understand each client’s goals and preferences, providing tailored recommendations and
support from selection through post-sale care.
Address complaints quickly and professionally to maintain satisfaction.
Conduct sales visits at offices or sites and recommend products that drive growth.
Gain expertise in manufacturing processes to confidently sell both standard and custom
materials suited to client needs and project requirements.
Promote the business locally through networking and community involvement.

Identify upselling opportunities to increase satisfaction and sales results.
