We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled DT Technician to join our client's successful Design & Technology department. The ideal candidate will support teachers and students across a range of DT disciplines, including Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, and Food Technology.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare, maintain, and organise materials, tools, and equipment for practical lessons

*

Support teachers during practical sessions and provide technical guidance to students

*

Ensure all machinery and equipment are maintained safely and in accordance with regulations

*

Manage stock levels, order resources, and keep the prep areas well-organised

*

Produce prototypes, demonstration models, and teaching aids as required

*

Promote and maintain high health & safety standards throughout the department

*

Support whole-school events, extracurricular activities, and project work where needed

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

*

Practical experience with workshop machinery and tools (e.g., saws, sanders, 3D printers, laser cutters)

*

A good understanding of health & safety in a workshop/school environment

*

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks

*

A proactive, flexible, and hands-on approach

*

Good communication skills and an ability to work as part of a team

*

(Desirable) A relevant qualification or experience in DT, engineering, or a related technical field

*

(Desirable) Experience working in education, though full training can be provided
