ICT Teacher - Secondary departmentThis is a unique and inspiring specialist setting that caters to deaf children and young people, fostering inclusion, communication, and academic excellence. The School are seeking a creative, enthusiastic and adaptable ICT Teacher to join their dedicated team. The School have a Primary site based in Highgate Wood and a Secondary site in Muswell Hill. This role is for their Secondary site.
This is an exciting opportunity to teach ICT in a school that embraces British Sign Language (BSL), celebrates diversity, and is committed to nurturing every child’s potential.
The role
Plan and deliver high-quality, accessible ICT lessons across KS3 and KS4 (and KS5 if applicable)
Teach a curriculum that includes digital literacy, computing, coding, and creative media
Adapt teaching to support the individual needs of deaf learners and those with additional SEN
Collaborate with BSL interpreters, support staff and therapists to ensure inclusive learning
Foster pupils’ independence, confidence, and problem-solving skills through technology
Maintain an engaging, well-resourced ICT classroom that promotes curiosity and creativity
Assess and monitor student progress, contributing to EHCPs and annual reviews
Support students in working towards GCSE or functional ICT qualifications
Contribute to the wider life of the school, including enrichment, cross-curricular learning and staff CPDRequirements
QTS or QTLS (or relevant teaching qualification)
Experience teaching ICT or Computing in a mainstream or SEN setting
A patient, inclusive teaching style with a passion for working with deaf learners
Knowledge of BSL (or willingness to learn)
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and the individual progress of each learner
