An opportunity has arisen for a Network Design Engineer to join a secure Defence and National Security programme, delivering medium and large scale network solutions across mission critical environments. This role is suited to a capable network professional who can design, implement, and support secure enterprise networks while working collaboratively across multi skilled teams.

About the Role - Network Design Engineer

As a Network Design Engineer, you will design, configure, and deploy network solutions that meet business and technical requirements across secure environments.

You will produce design documentation, support governance reviews, and provide hands on implementation and troubleshooting support.

The role involves supporting project milestones, ensuring effective handover to service, and resolving complex network issues across multiple vendors and domains.

You will work with stakeholders, assist with performance testing, and contribute to automation and continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For - Network Design Engineer

Strong experience with Cisco and Juniper technologies, with certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or JNCIS-ENT.

Knowledge of routing protocols, VRFs, VPNs, IDS, IPS, and network security controls.

Experience with F5, Cisco Secure Firewall, and Gigamon.

Strong design and troubleshooting background across enterprise and multi vendor networks.

Understanding of TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, VLANs, and data centre networking.

Experience using tools such as Visio, SolarWinds, and Nagios.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to document solutions and collaborate with stakeholders.

Support secure and high assurance network services as a Network Design Engineer.
