Are you currently in the care industry and looking for your next career move? We have the role for you! Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting teaching assistants for the 2025/2026 academic year. You will be supporting students with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) in the BS37 area and surrounding locations. PMLD students may be disabled, non-verbal, and require personal care assistance. These students range in age from 5 to 16, and you will play a vital role in their academic success.
Position Details
Start date: September 2025
Working hours: 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (may vary depending on the school)
Monday to Friday, term time only
Opportunity to transition to a permanent contract with the school for the right candidates
What You’ll Do
Support students with PMLD in learning the school’s tailored curriculum, either in small groups or one-on-one
Assist students with basic care, including eating, washing, and personal hygiene
Support classroom learning and development through sensory activities and relevant learning materials
Build professional relationships with your classroom colleagues and the wider school community
The Ideal Candidate
Has a passion for working in a classroom environment and is looking to start or continue a career in the education sector
Possesses strong communication skills (this is essential for the role)
Ideally comes from a care background
Experience with SEN or challenging behaviour (personal or professional) is desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
