Embedded Software & Firmware Engineer

About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to be at the forefront of embedded software development in a technically stimulating environment. You will play a critical role in designing, developing, and supporting embedded software and firmware solutions, working across a diverse product portfolio with a strong focus on performance, reliability, and real-time operation.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and test embedded software and firmware for microcontrollers, processors, and programmable logic devices.
* Implement low-level drivers, real-time control logic, and communication protocols.
* Write high-quality, maintainable code in C and C++.
* Engage in system architecture design and requirements analysis.
* Perform debugging and resolve hardware/software integration challenges.
* Support secure firmware update mechanisms and bootloader development.
* Participate in unit, integration, and system-level testing.
* Produce and maintain detailed technical documentation.
* Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams, including Hardware, Systems, QA, and Product Engineering.
About You
Essential:
* Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, or a related discipline.
* Proven experience in embedded software and firmware development.
* Strong proficiency in C/C++ and familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) or bare-metal development.
* Experience working with digital interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN).
* Confident using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analysers.
* Familiar with Git or other version control systems.
* Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
* Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities.
Desirable:
* Exposure to safety-critical software standards (e.g. DO-178C, ISO 26262, IEC 61508).
* Experience with FPGA or low-level hardware programming.
* Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
