Involve Recruitment are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our clients growing team based in their Cardiff head office. This is a key leadership role within the business, offering the opportunity to lead projects, mentor engineers, and contribute to strategic growth — all within a supportive and flexible working environment.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will lead and manage electrical building services projects from feasibility through to completion. You will take ownership of design delivery, oversee quality standards, and mentor a team of engineers and technical staff across all project stages.

About You

*

Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical building services design

*

Experience managing and delegating to engineers and technical staff

*

Affiliated with CIBSE or IET and either Chartered or working towards Chartered status

*

Proactive, detail-oriented and committed to CPD

Key Responsibilities

*

Lead and chair internal project meetings, resource planning and delivery

*

Develop and present technical and strategic reports to clients

*

Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors and design partners

*

Oversee project deliverables and ensure compliance with Q&A standards, BSRIA, BS 7671 and CIBSE guidance

*

Supervise and coordinate engineering teams across multiple projects

*

Contribute to business development and process improvement initiatives

*

Manage NEC and JCT contract responsibilities

*

Ensure compliance with CDM and health & safety regulations

Technical Expertise

You will be confident in:

*

Electrical building services design across all RIBA stages

*

LV distribution systems, switchgear, transformer selection and generator integration

*

HV infrastructure and private networks

*

UPS systems, surge protection, earthing and protective device coordination

*

Lighting and emergency lighting design (Dialux/Relux)

*

Fire alarm systems (BS 5839), emergency voice communication systems

*

Security systems including CCTV, access control and intruder alarms

*

Renewable energy integration and sustainable system design

*

Energy analysis and procurement advisory

*

CAD/BIM software and Amtech design calculations

*

Commissioning management and site inspections
