M&E Engineer

Job Description
The M&E Engineer will provide a mix of mechanical, electrical, and general building services maintenance across client properties.
The role involves diagnosing and fixing electrical issues, installing equipment, and carrying out tasks like testing emergency lights, changing generator batteries, upgrading lighting, and repairing switches and sockets.
Occasionally, you’ll also help with general building maintenance - i.e., fixing taps, repairing floors and tiles to keep the site running smoothly and safely.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out electrical PPM, reactive and proactive maintenance via the helpdesk within defined timeframes, ensuring customer expectations are exceeded.
* Undertake building services maintenance, including basic fabric, HVAC, mechanical, and related tasks.
* Provide out-of-hours callout response in line with the on-call rota.
* Oversee contractor activities, including workmanship monitoring and issuing Permits to Work, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
* Ensure all electrical systems operate to specified performance criteria and company standards.
* Maintain accurate records, complete required documentation, and ensure compliance with all H&S regulations, including risk assessments and COSHH.
* Represent the company professionally, proactively liaising with clients to resolve concerns and ensure satisfaction.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
* Fully electrically qualified (18th Edition, NVQ or City & Guilds in Electrical Installations).
* Ideally holds additional FM-related qualifications.
* Background in Facilities Management.
* Strong knowledge of Health & Safety practices.
