The Role
As an EHS Advisor, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and advancing the company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. Reporting to the HSE Manager, you will support both strategic development and day-to-day operational implementation of health, safety, and ergonomic initiatives, ensuring full compliance with UK legislation and international standards such as ISO45001 and ISO14001.
Key Responsibilities
Support the development and execution of site-wide HSE strategy
Lead H&S risk management programmes and audits
Drive behavioural safety and accident reduction initiatives
Conduct ergonomic risk assessments aligned with occupational health goals
Maintain and improve ISO45001 and ISO14001 certification standards
Deliver internal training and lead safety learning programmes
Track safety and ergonomics data in line with corporate requirements
Coordinate with external certification bodies and regulatory agencies
Monitor legislative changes and integrate best practices
Lead or assist in incident investigations and corrective actions
Promote a “Safety First” culture across all levels of the organisation
Your Background
Essential:
Post-secondary education in safety engineering or equivalent practical experience
Working knowledge of HSE legislation and risk assessment
NEBOSH & COSHH qualified
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Computer literacy, particularly with MS Office
Desirable:
Experience in automotive, engineering, or manufacturing sectors
ISO45001/ISO14001 lead auditor qualifications
Familiarity with behavioural safety and lean manufacturing
CMIOSH membership (or working towards it)
Trainer qualifications and experience with castings or fabrication processes
