Randstad is proud to be partnering with Ford Halewood Transmissions to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Skilled Craftsman for the Heat Treat Department. As the first site in Europe to manufacture EV components, our Halewood facility is undergoing a significant transformation, and we are investing heavily in this innovative project. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring the precision and quality of our components, contributing to the success of our electric vehicle ambitions.

What You'll Bring:

Completed Mechanical Level 3 Apprenticeship
Candidate to preferably have experience working with gas equipment either domestic or industrial, though this is not essential

What You'll Be Doing:

As part of the Production Planned Maintenance Team, you'll play a critical role in keeping our equipment running smoothly, safely, and efficiently. You'll be primarily assigned to the Heat Treatment department with a mechanical focus, supporting emergency, predictive, and preventive maintenance activities.

Your responsibilities will include:

Planning and executing preventive maintenance on machines and associated systems (mechanical, electrical, PLC, refrigeration)
Analysing data from maintenance actions to anticipate parts replacements or overhauls
Overhauling machine parts to reduce replacement costs
Identifying and implementing machine performance improvements and OEE optimisations
Root cause analysis and implementation of long-term fixes for breakdowns
Supporting 5 Whys analysis, continuous improvement projects, and Kaizen initiatives
Contributing to safety, environmental, and cost-reduction improvements
Stepping into the analyst role when required
