Key Responsibilities:
Design and Development: Create detailed designs and specifications for mechanical systems using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) specifically for nuclear applications.
Prototyping: Develop and test prototypes to validate designs, ensuring compliance with nuclear safety standards.
Research: Conduct technical research to inform design and engineering methods, focusing on nuclear-specific requirements.
Project Management: Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets, ensuring adherence to nuclear industry regulations.
Collaboration: Liaise with clients, designers, engineers, and manufacturers to ensure coherence and quality, particularly in the context of nuclear safety.
Documentation: Prepare technical reports, design specifications documents, and operational manuals, ensuring compliance with nuclear regulatory standards. * Testing: Perform computer simulations and experiments to virtually test and refine designs, focusing on nuclear-specific scenarios.
Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of advancements in technology, design trends, and engineering best practices within the nuclear industry. Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably within the nuclear industry.
Skills: Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks), strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, exceptional time management and organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Certifications: PE certification is advantageous; familiarity with nuclear industry standards and regulations is essential.
Attributes: Attentive to detail, critically minded, and able to find creative solutions to technical problems.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and other simulation tools.
Knowledge of nuclear-specific manufacturing processes and materials.Working Conditions:
