Team Manager
Are you a passionate and experienced leader in youth support services looking for your next challenge? We're working with a dedicated provider of supported accommodation for young people in Kirkham to find a Team Manager to join their compassionate and professional team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a crucial role in delivering a safe, effective, and high-quality service, ensuring the well-being and development of young people while leading and inspiring a dedicated staff team in Kirkham.
What you'll be doing:
As a Team Manager, you'll be at the heart of daily operations, ensuring exceptional standards of care and support. Your responsibilities will include:
* Leading and managing your staff team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
* Overseeing assessments, placements, and reviews for young people, supporting their journey towards independence.
* Developing and monitoring person-centred support plans and daily living skills.
* Managing budgets effectively and assisting young people with financial planning.
* Ensuring compliance with all regulatory, contractual, and quality standards (e.g., Supported Accommodation Regulations, Children's Act, Ofsted).
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with families, health professionals, commissioners, and other external agencies.
* Championing safeguarding by ensuring robust arrangements, staff training, and timely reporting.
* Recruiting, inducting, training, and coaching your team through supervisions and appraisals.
* Solving day-to-day operational issues and contributing to the continuous development of the service.
* Participating in the on-call rota as required.
What we're looking for:
We're seeking a proactive and empathetic individual with a proven track record in a similar senior role.
Essential Requirements:
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a senior role within a care or health setting, with specific experience working with young people, especially those with additional support needs.
* Level 3 Diploma in Children & Young People’s Services or equivalent.
* Sound working knowledge of the Children's Act, Child Protection Issues and Procedures, Children's Homes procedures, National Care Standards 2000, and Supported Accommodation Regulations 2023.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce professional reports and build strong rapport.
* Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt quickly and exercise sound judgment.
* Demonstrated leadership abilities, capable of managing change, creating cohesive teams, and motivating others.
* Commitment to continuous professional development.
* Ability to drive and use of your own vehicle is essential for this role to provide visible support across services in the Southend-on-Sea area.
