Health & Safety Manager – Energy from Waste

MC Technical Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Health, Safety and Quality Manager to join an Energy from Waste Power Station in the Sittingbourne, Kent area. The HSQ Manager will be responsible for all matters relating to health, safety & quality across the facility.

As the Health & Safety Manager you will be responsible for:

Managing site Health and Safety and promoting a culture of safe working practices
Overseeing site audits in relation to ISO 45001 and 18001
Investigating and reporting all site incidents and implementing any procedural improvements
Liaising with the site management team to discuss any potential breaches or risks to the plant
Ensure site compliance with all relevant industry standards and guidelines such as PSSR, LOLER, PUWER and COSHH
Other duties as required
To be considered for this role you should have:

A NEBOSH diploma or similar or proven experience in H&S management
At least 3 years of experience in the waste management, energy from waste, power, or heavy process industry in a relevant role e.g. HSE Advisor, H&S Engineer, QHSE specialist etc
Knowledge of CEMS and awareness of various ISO standards would be ideal – ISO9001, 14001 and 45001
Good understanding of CDM regulations, permit to work and safe systems of work
The ability to manage circa 50 contractors during plant shutdowns
